Since its formation in 1991, ConeTech has initiated radical change in the wine industry

It is now in a quite dramatic expansion mode - with simultaneous GEOGRAPHICAL expansion, and expansion into new types of SERVICE, besides expansion into beverages other than wine.

Starting in California and now extending into Latin America and Europe, ConeTech has altered how hundreds of winemakers approach the fundamental process of winemaking by “re-educating” the industry in the merits of “flavor management”. ConeTech provides the toll-based lease of high-tech equipment that makes this possible.

ConeTech now plays a major role in the international wine industry. In California, the world's largest alcohol adjustment center serves over 600 wineries and similar services are provided in Chile by ConeTech Chile SA.

Expanding presence

ConeTech's international expansion has been driven by market forces, as winemakers in other countries, now obliged to compete in an increasingly globalized business, have demanded equal access to intelligent winemaking tools.

ConeTech's planned expansion into France was triggered by a revolutionary change in traditional French attitudes. Thousands of wine producers (particularly in the warmer grape growing areas of Southern France) demanded access to the same technological solution to the problem of high alcohol as was enjoyed by their increasingly successful New World competitors. The same has been broadly true in Spain.

South Africa's return to the role of major player in the global wine industry was spearheaded by many wines offering big varietal fruit character. The need for corresponding alcohol adjustment by ConeTech was quickly recognized by leading South African wine marketers and regulatory authorities.

In Spain and South Africa, ConeTech Inc. Ibérica SL and ConeTech South Africa (Pty.) Ltd. will operate from 2006. French operations will begin when current partnership issues are resolved. High-tech services from ConeTech's Polarclad® division, which are also revolutionizing wine tank insulation in California, will expand internationally.
